Nasal cleansing or nasal irrigation (jala neti) is a personal hygiene practice which uses a neti pot to clean out the nasal passages with warm salt water. It helps to relieve nasal infections such as hay fever, cold, sinusitis, allergies and otherwise promote good nasal health. For people working in an air-conditioned environment, it can help ease dry, crusty nasal passages. It also helps to promote deeper and more relaxed breathing.
